PLEASE READ the full description for all details!
This listing is for admission to a fun, casual online workshop which will take place via Zoom, hosted by me! There is a sliding scale for payment, so you can pay an amount that feels comfortable. Please select your payment from the dropdown menu.
Class will take place on Sunday October 24th at 1pm Central time (please type 1pm central + your time zone into Google to find the correct time!)
If you are a $5 or $10 per month Patron, you are welcome to attend classes for free! Please purchase the listing and enter your special code at checkout. ;)
This is a two hour class. Please note that class will be recorded, but it’s most effective to attend live! Attending live means you can ask questions in real time and interact with other participants. If you miss class, please email me and I will send you a link to view class.
This class is for anyone who 1) wants to learn how to blockprint but doesn’t have supplies yet, 2) wants to learn to blockprint but DOES have supplies, or 3) knows how to blockprint but wants to come hang out! We will spend two hours chatting, carving, and printing. This class is perfect for complete beginners but all levels are welcome!
Within 48 hours of signing up, I will email you a list of some favorite blockprinting supplies (PLEASE make sure your email address is included when you order!) You are welcome to purchase some supplies to bring to class, but there is NO requirement to purchase anything. If you have a dusty old printing kit in your basement, we can work with that! Even if you don’t have any supplies, you’re welcome to sign up and just hang out. Please note that I do not have specific knowledge of where to purchase art supplies outside of the US, so you may have to do a little digging on your own.
If you’d like to carve and print during class, you can bring the following: something to carve (a piece of rubber, linoleum, or wood), a carving tool, paper, a pencil, and ink (either a stamp pad or printing ink), plus a roller/brayer if you’re using ink. More specifics will be included in the materials email!
I will be going over the basics of transferring an image to rubber or linoleum, carving, and printing. I’m happy to answer any questions (within my scope of knowledge!) that come up during class.
The day before class, I will email a Zoom link to all participants. Check your email that day to find the link.
